Student Enrolments

Enrolment Process

Geelong Baptist College has an open enrolment policy. This means that any student can apply for enrolment regardless of religious affiliation.

Parents who place their children in the College will do so for a variety of reasons and come from a wide range of backgrounds.

A place may be offered to a student following an interview with the Principal and on the basis that the student:

  • is seeking enrolment into a Year level that has the capacity to accept another enrolment;
  • makes a commitment to the College behaviour standards and discipline policies;
  • respects the Christian viewpoint, including participation in assemblies, devotions and special services;
  • has any special needs that the College is equipped to meet in terms of staffing and resources;

and parents:

  • allow the child to share fully in the life and program of the College;
  • support the aims of the College;
  • agree to support the College behaviour standards and discipline policies;
  • respect the Christian ethos of the College;
  • pay fees promptly.

The Principal will make the final decision about a child’s enrolment at Geelong Baptist College.

Process prior to a student commencing at the College

  • Parents have an interview and a tour of the College with the Principal -  it is expected that the student attends along with their parents.
  • During the interview, parents receive the College Prospectus (including the Discipline Policy) which is briefly discussed, allowing families to get a clear understanding of what the College offers.  Parents also have the opportunity to ask questions.
  • Parents complete the Registration of Interest Form and pay $100.00 (non refundable).
  • Parents complete the ‘Enrolment Form’ – and pay  $200 (non refundable, but is deducted from the tuition fees).
  • Parents return the signed Discipline Policy.
  • Parents provide copies of the student’s last school report.
  • The Principal decides if the application is declined or approved and informs the family of the outcome.
  • The College sends the family a letter of confirmation of enrolment including commencement date and requests further documentation regarding Fee Payment details, bus usage etc.
  • The College creates a student file and informs relevant staff of the new student commencing.
  • Parents receive a Parent Handbook along with any other paperwork relevant at the time of enrolment.
